CRAC Alsace is pleased to invite you to R.A.S: Retour Aux Sources, 276km 700m, a launch day for a collective publication on the river III in Altkirch, created by art students of the Enquêter, raconter group from HEAR Mulhouse-Strasbourg. Visitors are also invited to take part in art workshops led by students throughout the afternoon.

"Since a place is always invented in its location, in a clearing, on the water's edge, the students of the Enquêter, raconter group invite visitors to discover a collective publication and take part in workshops, enabling them to experience and interact with documentary and anticipatory narratives inspired by the region's history. Traces of these exchanges will accumulate and feed this collective publication, enriched with images and texts, where points of view and expertise will converge.

It's impossible to know in advance all the imaginary worlds that a place can conjure up. And yet, when it comes to telling the story of a particular place and map, there's no one best way to do it. With this in mind, we set out to pull out one by one the strings of what, in the experience of a territory, lies in a form of oblivion, latency, sleep. From then on, surprise and astonishment are allowed at every moment to discover anew what seems to be given in a form of evidence, and which, for this reason, we no longer see.

It was at the end of a journey along the Ill river that, over the months, we tried to tell the story of the human and non-human perspectives that merge there. That's how we came to ask the questions we need to answer. What if fiction opened the way to futures other than the predicted ecological apocalypse? What if science fiction, by inventing new narratives, rekindled our desire to imagine other possibilities?"
