In March and April 2017, school residency by the artist Gérard Meurant with students of Primary School of Emlingen.

Through a collaborative process with schoolchildren, Gérard Meurant experiments with sculpture and image, challenging bodies and moving spaces. A workshop space within the school could be the site of various explorations leading by the participation of pupils in the research process. Engaging a work that questions the image and flexible temporalities, Gérard Meurant and the pupils explored new ways of collective realisation.

Gérard Meurant, born in 1983 in Namur (Belgium), studied at ERG in Brussels. At Médiatine he received the first prize in 2014. He had a solo exhibition in Maac, Jozsa gallery (Brussels) and he participated in numerus group exhibitions: PM 15#1, Manifeste pour une création visuelle actuelle, Centre wallonie-Bruxelles Paris; Netwerk Project (24h project), Établissement d’en face projects & Erg, Brussels; Anger Management, Komplot, Brussels (Curator: Benjamin Jaubert); Don't Feed The Artists, They Already Have Too Much Too Digest (with Jessica Baxter), TRUST: Copenhague Art Festival, Copenhague (Curator: Sonia Dermience); Incidence & Ainsi Danse (with Elektronisch Volume), Angle Art Contemporain, Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux (Curateur: Thierry Mouillé);  Point of View, Galerie Frédéric Desimpel, Brussels; Black & Vases, Komplot, Bruxelles.

This residency received the support of GIP Acmisa—Académie de Strasbourg. It was led by Geneviève Hengy & Lucienne Romann, teachers.
