On April 8, 2022, the French Ministry of Culture attributed the certification «centre d’art contemporain d’intérêt national»* to CRAC Alsace, Centre rhénan d’art contemporain, in Altkirch.

This formal certification recognizes the remarkable work conducted by the art center’s team, championing a cultural program in the service of artistic creation and the public interest.

By attributing this certification, the Ministry of Culture affirms its commitment to the art center, whose program develops a specific focus on the care and support of both artists and publics. A model institution known for artistic experimentation, centering on artists through research and new commissions in constant dialogue with its audience, CRAC Alsace plays an emblematic role in contemporary art-making on local, national, and international levels.

The Ministry of Culture recognizes the ongoing commitment of the CRAC Alsace association and its core supporters: the City of Altkirch, Collectivité européenne d’Alsace and Région Grand Est; acknowledging their dedication to the institution’s vibrant cultural and artistic program, prioritizing experimentation, research, creation and its transmission.
