The creation of the CRAC Alsace artist residency was supported by the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (LEADER program).

This residency enables artists, curators and researchers to live and work within the art center. It facilitates the implementation of artistic projects in the region. It anchors more durably the numerous actions initiated by the art center, reinforcing exchanges and dialogues with the publics in a logic of proximity and local cooperation.

LEADER (acronym for "Links between actions for the development of the rural economy") is an initiative of the European Union to support locally-run rural development projects, with the aim of revitalizing rural areas and supporting job creation. It is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADER). The LEADER program is locally run by GAL Sundgau-3F.
