On Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 8pm, screening of サボテンとの会話 (Conversation With A Cactus), a film by Elise Florenty & Marcel Türkowsky at Cinéma Palace Lumière, Altkirch, as part of Contemporary Art Weekend Grand Est.

Mei, a 30 year-old woman from Tokyo, just sent a letter to her friend Toshi who lives in Hambourg. She told her about haikus, strange memories from their childhood and those suffocating summer nights when the fever dengue threatens. She told her about her last dream full of government conspiracies, leading her on the tracks of the legendary Hashimoto couple and their curious experiment, which consisted of communicating with a cactus through a lie-detector, so that it could become a possible witness of future crimes.

The screening is part of Week-end de l'art contemporain Grand Est. It takes place at Cinéma Palace Lumière, 2 Boulevard Georges Clemenceau, Altkirch.
