On Sunday, April 29 at 5pm, screening of the film The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye by Marie Losier.

The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye recounts the extraordinary story of artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and his wife and artistic partner, Lady Jaye, who for love decided to merge into a single entity. A major New York avant-garde artist of the past 30 years, considered one of the fathers of industrial music, Genesis has challenged the limits of art and biology. In 2000, he began a series of operations to resemble Lady Jaye, a risky, ambitious and subversive performance. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye recounts this ultimate act of love and devotion.

Marie Losier was born in France in 1972. She studied literature at the University of Nanterre and Fine Arts in New York. She produced many avant-garde portraits for directors, musicians and composers such as George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad and Genesis P. Orridge. Capricious, poetic, dreamlike and unconventional, her films explore the lives and work of these artists.
