Juan Canela (Spain, 1980) is curator of the exhibition On Glaciers And Avalanches.

Juan Canela is independent curator and writer. Co-founder of BAR project, and Research and Symposium Associate of the osloBIENNIALEN FIRST EDITION. He is member of the Programs Committee at HANGAR, Barcelona and part of the Present Future Curatorial Committee at Artissima Turin. He has been curator of Opening section at ARCO Madrid (2016-17). He has curated projects at museums, galleries and institutions such as Palais de Tokyo, París; Fundación Cerezales, León; CA2M, Madrid; Tiro al Blanco Gallery, Guadalajara, México; Tabakalera San Sebastián; CRAC Alsace; SOMA Mexico; Fundació Miró, Barcelona; La Ene, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was part of the Guest Board at Live Works Performance Art Award at Centrale Fies Milan (2018), he has attended SYNAPSE Workshop 2015 at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlín (2015), and he was one of the speakers at Surrounding Education (2015) at De Appel Art Center, Amsterdam. He has give lectures and workshops at Flora Bogotá, Curando Caribe República Dominicana, Bisagra Lima, Instituto Di Tella Buenos Aires or La Casa Encendida Madrid. He usually writes for art magazines such as A*Desk, Babelia El País, Terremoto Magazine or Mousse.
