On Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 4pm, screening of Sophie Nys's Parque do Flamengo at Cinéma Palace Lumière in Altkirch, as part of Contemporary Art Weekend Grand Est.

The film Parque do Flamengo is an experimental documentary whose main character is a park designed in Rio de Janeiro by the landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx between 1954 and 1959. Simultaneously a painter, sculptor, poet and botanist, Roberto Burle Marx is known as one of the greatest modernist landscape architects. The film Parque do Flamengo is a 45 minutes uncut travelling shot, and represents the whole of the park as an isolated entity. As a stroll, the route follows the curved and sensual lines of the park. The musician Arto Lindsay conceived an original soundtrack for the film, using the list of plants featured in the park as a starting point for this new composition.
